Sponge Type Cleaning Ball (S200 / L200) for Seawater Applications

Description

S200,L200 sponge type cleaning balls are standard cleaning balls designed for copper and brass tubes used in seawater cooling systems. They are used in saline water environments, often in combination with a controlled amount of ferrous sulfate (FeSO₄) dosing.

Application

S200 cleaning balls are suitable for:

• Copper tubes in seawater cooling systems
• Brass tubes in seawater applications
• Systems operated with controlled FeSO₄ dosing
• Multi-Stage Flash (MSF) seawater desalination plant evaporators

In MSF desalination plants, they are used for evaporator tube cleaning, especially in multi-stage systems.

Cleaning Frequency

In Power Plants

Without FeSO₄ coating:

• 6–12 balls per tube per day

With FeSO₄ coating:

• 6–12 balls per tube per day
• or 6–12 balls per tube per week (depending on operating conditions)

In Multi-Stage Flash (MSF) Desalination Plants

• 2 balls per tube per hour
• Ball injection rate: 30% of the number of tubes in the first-stage evaporator
